A plane transporting a Brazilian soccer team to
Medellin's international airport in Colombia crashed overnight, officials said.
Authorities are responding to the plane crash at an
unspecified scene, according to the Jose Maria Cordova airport's Twitter page.
The plane, which took off from Bolivia, was carrying 72 passengers and nine
crew members aboard, including the Chapecoense Brazilian soccer team that was
expected to Copa Sudamerica finals against Atletico Nacional on Wednesday in
Medellin.
In a tweet, the airport said there appear to be
survivors but did not say how many.
