Usain Bolt is basically the real-life Flash, so it comes as
no surprise that he wants a cameo in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie. The
Olympic legend was talking about the prospect of being in a superhero movie as
he promoted his new flick I Am Bolt.
"I've always wanted to be the fastest man, always
wanted to be Flash Gordon," Bolt admitted to MTV News.To be honest, the
fastest man alive would be a fitting choice to play The Flash himself - though
a cameo will suffice. The solo Flash movie is set to star Ezra Miller as the
speedy superhero and will act as a spinoff to DC crossover movie Justice
League.
However, it has already hit a bit of trouble in
pre-production as the movie has lost its second director in Dope's Rick
Famuyiwa, who quit the movie last month."I pitched a version of the film
in line with my voice, humour, and heart," he said. "While it's
disappointing that we couldn't come together creatively on the project, I
remain grateful for the opportunity."Famuyiwa's version had Kiersey
Clemons and Billy Crudup as Iris West and The Flash's father Henry Allen, as
well as a reported storyline involving sibling villains Captain Cold and The
Golden Glider.
The delay will likely push back its planned release date of
March 16, 2018, as it will not get off the ground from its scheduled March 2017
production start.Maybe Bolt can run in and save the day?
