Egypt's Omar Assar crowned African Table Tennis Champion

Egypt’s number one and Olympian Omar Assar was crowned African Champion after defeating Aruna Quadri from Nigeria 4-3 in the final.
The 25-year-old turned the ‘table’ on the Nigerian after a a very tough start, to reclaim the Men’s singles title and add another medal to his records.
The Egyptian won the game after winning four sets and losing three, 10-12, 11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10, 6-11, and then won 9-7 in the deciding game.
Assar, who is ranked 57th on the world, was also part of the Men’s Team and and Mixed Doubles that managed to win gold in both competitions in the African Championship.
