The National Crime Agency in United Kingdom has charged former Super Eagles defender, Efetobore Sodje and his brothers with fraud offences.
Efetobore Sodje, 34, Bright Sodje, 50, Samuel Sodje, 37, and Stephen Sodje, 42, were charged with fraudulent trading on Friday 21 October and bailed until 14 November 2016, when they will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court.
Sodje Sports Foundation owned by the Sodje brothers was investigated for alleged irregularities by the National Crime Agency for three years and the brothers were arrested on 13 July. Sodje Sports Foundation was registered on March 1, 2010 and disbanded on January 2015.
The charity organization is supposedly aimed to relieve poverty, advance good health in people through the provision of facilities in playing amateur sports and the promotion of lifelong learning, leadership skills and health issues such as HIV/AIDS, drugs abuse, and nutrition,. but the NCA is accusing them of using it for other unrelated purposes.
