Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the senior special assistant to
President Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, has raised alarm over many
fake Facebook accounts opened in her name by some fraudsters. While speaking on
Tuesday, November 8, in Abuja Mrs Dabiri explained that the fraudsters had
created phony accounts in her name on Facebook to defraud unsuspecting people.

Balogun her special assistant on media revealed this in a statement on her
behalf and warned members of the public to be wary of such accounts stressing
that Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa had no account with Facebook.
She further revealed
that the fraudsters had opened 11 different Facebook accounts using them
to send all manners of scam letters to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians. Balogun
revealed that Mrs Dabiri was always available and members of the public could
reach her on: ssa@diaspora.gov.ng on issues pertaining to her office. While
noting that she had reported the issue several times to Facebook, she urged
online platform to look into such easy methods of cloning peoples’ identity.
“The issue is already being handled by the security
agencies to track down those behind creation of these fake accounts,” she
concluded.

likes.

personal account
3. Abike Dabiri a personality page with 1,766 likes
4. ABIKE DABIRI – A LEADER OF A UNIQUE KIND, a
Facebook page with 16,049 likes.
And so on.
