Ole..!!! Two employees Of a Manufacturing Company, YSR Limited, Defraud Customers of the firm to the tune of N11m.


Two employees of YSR Limited, a manufacturing company in Badagry, Lagos State, Adebayo Alabi and Kayode Timothy,  have been brought before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defrauding some customers of the firm to the tune of N11m.
The defendants were arraigned on three counts of stealing and forgery before a magistrate, Mr. B.A. Sonuga.The police said the defendants had presented themselves as owners of the firm to their unsuspecting victims and promised to help them mold some machines.

Alabi, 40, and 30-year-old Timothy were said to have collected the sum from the customers sometime in October 2016 and reportedly assured them of getting the machines soon.PUNCH Metro learnt that the complainants petitioned the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos State, when the defendants could not produce the machines or refund the sum.
They were apprehended and subsequently brought to the court by a police prosecutor, Sergeant O. Innocent.Innocent told the court that the offences were punishable under sections 278, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The charges read in part, “That you, Adebayo Alabi and Kayode Timoth, sometime in October 2016, at YSR Limited, Badagry, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire with each other to commit felony, to wit: obtaining money by false pretences.“That you, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did present yourselves as the owners of YSR Limited, which you know to be false, and obtained the sum of N11m from customers of YSR company, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 278 (1) (9) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”The accused pleaded not guilty and elected summary trial.

The magistrate, Sonuga, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties each in like sum.Sonuga asked the prosecutor to verify the sureties’ residential addresses and evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.The case was adjourned till January 31, 2017.
