Hillary Clinton got a gift she might not have expected on her birthday after learning that British singer Adele is urging her fans to vote for her.
The Democratic presidential nominee learned that the Someone Like You star had promoted Clinton at a recent concert in Miami and told fans not to vote for Donald Trump .
Speaking to SiriusXM’s Mark Thompson Hillary admitted she was “really grateful” to learn that she had Adele's backing, even though she can't vote in the US, as well as former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
“I went to the Adele concert after we finished our day of campaigning in Florida and I was stunned and thrilled because I’m a huge fan of hers and it meant a lot to me that she said something so positive,” the 69-year-old said.
It comes after Adele banned the property tycoon from using her music at his rallies.
Adele told the crowd on Tuesday: “Don’t vote for him, that’s what I’m saying.”
She also reportedly said she was “100% for Hillary Clinton” and added: “I love her. She’s amazing.”
Pointing out her ineligibility to vote, she said: “I am English so it has nothing to do with me, but what happens in America affects me too.”
She added: “So I will pipe up.”
Encouraging the audience to vote regardless of which candidate she added: “I certainly know who I’d be voting for.”
