The 53-year-old star appeared in court on wednesday after being charged with unlawful firearm possession.
Coolio pleaded guilty to unlawful firearm possession today - and the judge COMPLIMENTED his hairstyle.
The Gangsta's Paradise rapper appeared in court after the handgun was discovered in his bag during a security screening on September 17 at Los Angeles International Airport.
He has been sentenced to three years of probation and 45 days of community service, according to E! Online.
"A mistake was made, it was a misunderstanding," Coolio told the court. "And I do not condone the use of firearms, legal or illegal. Thanks to the court and the attorneys handling this for me so I can still do the work that I do."
Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey, was then asked about his new 'do by the judge, TMZ reports.
"You have a different little hair style," the judge reportedly said. "It fits you."
Coolio is best known for his 1995 hit Gangsta's Paradise. He also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 and Ultimate Big Brother in 2010.

In a video shared on Twitter, the star thanked fans for their support after his arrest earlier this year.
Coolio told the camera: "I don't know what's going to be the result of this in the future but for now I'm fine and I appreciate everybody's concerns.
He added: "We gotta push on and try to forward, forward hip-hop."
