The Igbo Improvement Union, IIU, also known as
Oganiru Ndigbo, has called on the Federal Government to probe alleged killing of 150 Igbo youths by the
Nigeria security forces for campaigning for sovereign state of Biafra.
While condemning the alleged killing and describing
it as “inhuman act,” the group warned against sweeping the matter under the
carpet, insisting that the perpetrators must be fished out and be made to face
appropriate sanctions. Rising from its meeting in Enugu, weekend, the group
also challenged the Federal Government to tackle erosion devastation and other
ecological challenges affecting the South-East zone. The group expressed
concern over ecological devastation of the zone
and called on the federal government and the governors of the states of
the zone to rise to the challenge of erosion devastation and other ecological
challenges before it was too late.
